Windy days

April 17, 2010

Well, I’m up in Wisconsin on an early spring day and boy is the wind blowing a lot! It makes me wonder why more folks don’t take advantage of this resource. I’ve been looking around all the farms and farm houses and no one has or is using a wind generator. Now I know of a wind farm a couple of miles away but that is but a drop in the bucket here in the upper Midwest. Does anyone know of a good dealer or seller of green energy technologies in this area? If so they are sitting a veritable goldmine of potential customers. Many of these family farms and rural residential locations are the perfect places to add solar, wind and bio-mass energy solutions and it has to be only a matter of time before most folks get fed up with high energy prices to get onboard the green energy bandwagon. The blue collar, hard working people around this region don’t give a hoot about the spotted owl loving treehugging yuppie moralistic green crowd that are at the leading edge of this new alternative energy play but I am pretty sure that once propane and fueloil payments reach and stay at new all time highs, you better believe those solar panels and windmills will start dotting rooftops all around here. I’m looking forward to seeing that.
